SEGE

Reports called the "SURVEY ON THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RANKING OF PROVINCES AND REGIONS," also known as SEGE, are studies conducted at the provincial and district levels over specific periods, taking into account numerous variables. Within this study, the socioeconomic development levels of provinces, districts, and regions are calculated using specific calculation methods, and the relevant regions are then ranked.

The study, previously conducted by the State Planning Organization, is currently conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Development of the Republic of Turkey. These studies, conducted since the 1960s, provide a clearer picture of a region and play a crucial role in policymaking and decision-making. This brief analysis includes the results of SEGE reports for Sakarya province, closely examining Sakarya's socioeconomic development rankings over the years.

As the Sakarya Economic and Social Research Center (SESAM), we aim to provide a summary of our province's development over time and its socioeconomic position compared to other provinces. The study utilized reports from nine provincial SEDI surveys conducted between 1969 and 2017. Detailed information and SEDI reports are available on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Development of the Republic of Turkey.
