Advanced Valorization of Agricultural Waste:

Advanced Valorization of Agricultural Waste: Analysis and Reporting for Medium-High Technology Products is a technical assistance project supported by the Eastern Marmara Development Agency (MARKA), focusing on the potential of Sakarya’s agricultural residues to generate higher-value bio-based products. Implemented by Sakarya  Economic and Social Research Center (SESAM) as the contracted institution, the project examines agricultural waste resources from technical, economic, environmental, and regional development perspectives. Its work explores integrated biorefinery pathways for converting resources such as corn residues, quince pulp, and hazelnut shells into products including bioplastics, pectin, and activated carbon. The project also addresses process design, financial feasibility, market integration, certification requirements, technology transfer, and sustainability, providing a strategic framework for advancing circular bioeconomy opportunities in the region.
