Sakarya University has earned the title of "Research University" by ranking among the top 20 state universities in Turkey. The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has declared SAU the 12th state university with the highest scientific performance.
Sakarya University was promoted to "Research University" status following a two-year monitoring and evaluation process conducted by the Council of Higher Education. Following three years of efforts by the university administration, SAU ranked 15th at the A2 level in the research performance rankings. It also rose to 12th place among state universities.
With this title, Sakarya University's academic staff will expand, its laboratory infrastructure will be strengthened, and project budgets will increase. Scholarship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate education will increase.
This development has added a science center element to the city's image as a center for natural beauty, tourism, and industry.
